As long as I’m on a blog tear, I thought I would finish up the day with my dinner. Alex works in one of my groups. He is in Japan to interact with the customers. Alex is an interesting characters in that he is half-Japanese and half-Spanish. He lived most of his life in Spain, but his Dad was Japanese and is one of the better known martial arts people in Europe in a special type of Karate.
Alex says that he can speak a bit of baby Japanese, but it was more than good enough to ask directions. Not that Alex listened that well. We were told of a place to eat, but the direction interfered with what Alex believed was the right way. He lived in Yokohama for a while, and knows enough to be dangerous.
After going the wrong way (and Alex ignoring some right directions from a shop keeper), the following guy on the street was able to point out the right way. We needed to go to the 8th floor of a electronics store, where we’d find our restaurant that we wanted.
There were 8 floors of all types of different electronics. We had to stop off on the way up to check out the hard drive section. While we did not find bare hard drives, our External Hard Drives had the #1slot in the 4 major catagories. You can see the display above, and the #1 has a WD drive in it.
We were proud.
Alex forgot his cell phone charger, and it used a micro-USB cable. After looking for a while, I said that I couldn’t guaranty it, but I thought I may have an extra cable in my room. (Turned out that I did, and it fit his phone.)
The big thing on the way down after dinner was stopping by the home 3-D display. They were selling a variety of home video cameras with 2 lens to give home recorded 3-D. I still think today’s 3-D causes eye strain, but you could hit a button and show yourself while watching your self. We all tried it.
Finally, the video below shows a bit of what every floor was like. It was fun to visit.
